As the black cloud continued its relentless path over Type O, Dead Again appeared and disappeared from the streaming platforms for years. Soon after, Peter passed, and then even the rehearsal studio it was written and developed in was burnt to the ground by Hurricane Sandy.
The original members of the band included Peter Steele as lead. Steele hinted at Type O Negative’s style back in 1987, the same year he started in the Parks Department and released his thrash band Carnivore’s second and final album, Retaliation. Only cover band I have ever heard is Bloody Kisses which is a European band (I forget where they come from but I wanna say Ireland but dont quote me on it). Today, just in time for Valentine’s Day, the band releases the live music video for “Love You To Death”. On May 5th the band will release a 2LP in black vinyl, light green transparent vinyl, light green/black/white splatter vinyl and mint green marble vinyl as well as a black cassette. Last fall, the 3LP reissue of Dead Again was released in select colors.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the band’s last album before the death of bassist/vocalist Peter Steele. On March 13, 2007, the American goth metal band released TYPE O NEGATIVE her seventh and final studio album, Dead Again.
