MoM told Xehanort his name, though it wasn't shown. I think the game was trying to convey that Xehanort's motivations were complex and he wasn't a total bad guy to expand on the ending of KH3 but I didn't really get it. It also makes Subject X mentioned in the reports in KH3 more complicated. This is somewhat ironic because he seemed to have a complex about his bloodline compared to Eraqus but he's actually related to two union leaders. Xehanort is also blood related to Skuld somehow. Not sure what this means exactly, though I think it may be what Sora actually is. Also, blue robed guy thinks Xehanort is the 'Child of Destiny'.

The blue robed guy is actually the reincarnation of the player from Union X and will most likely be the player character in missing link. Xehanort isn't the reincarnation of player from Union X as the ending of Union X implies. Unless you have old data with a bunch of BP it probably won't be worthwhile to play through the game as the gameplay is still the auto-battle grind fest if you need to level up, and the entire story is told through the cutscenes. Also also also also, apparently Xehanort shaved his head as an old man, he didn't go bald. Also also also, apparently if you die in any world you can end up in Hercules's Underworld? Most of the older students died in Maleficent's world but showed up in the Underworld to talk to Xehanort and Eraqus and the gang. Also also, Bragi is Luxu and didn't actually die but everyone thinks he's dead. The old person says they've lived two lives, the first being Union Cross's player character, so the assumption is their second life is going to be as Missing Link's player character as their monologue at the end has the Missing Link world as the background when talking about their second life, which will lead into Dark Road where they raise Xehanort until they die.Īlso, Xehanort is Ephemer's descendant which we should have all known as they both have silver hair. The post credits scene does re-contextualize the ending of Union Cross, turns out the player from Union Cross didn't reincarnate into Xehanort like everyone assumed, they reincarnated into the old person that raised him as a child and Xehanort just had the ability to read other people's hearts/memories and was just reading that person's heart that whole time and seeing the old person's memories in his dreams. As expected, all the students except for Xehanort and Eraqus die, although Odin actually survives but as far as we know he just gets really depressed after having most of his students die and doesn't do anything else plot wise over the 60 something year time skip between Dark Road and BBS.
